GuidePaper tube packaging sizes: diameter, height, caps and linings
Most paper tubes we make are 50–120 mm in diameter and 80–250 mm tall. Wine tubes go up to 350 mm, enough for a standard 750 ml bottle. Tubes are round as standard, with oval and square as options, and close with either a lift-off lid or a plug-in lid. MOQ is 1,000 pcs.
What sizes do paper tubes come in?
The size is set by your product, not picked from a catalogue: send the product dimensions and we size the tube to fit. For reference, this is the range most of our tubes fall into:

If your product needs a size outside these ranges, send it anyway — we confirm feasibility with the quote rather than refusing on the number.
Round, oval or square?
Round is the standard format. Oval and square tubes are also made in our factory. At the same size and quantity they cost slightly more per unit than round; the exact difference is confirmed with the quote.
All three shapes start at the same 1,000 pcs MOQ.
Lift-off lid or plug-in lid?
We make two cap styles:
- Lift-off lid — a separate lid that sits over the top of the tube.
- Plug-in lid — a lid that fits inside the opening of the tube.
Tell us how the tube will be opened and displayed, and we will suggest one with the quote.
How is the lid fit checked?
On the physical sample. The lid is adjusted so it is tight enough not to fall off and loose enough to open easily, and the rolled edge at the top of the tube is confirmed on the same sample. You check both in hand before approving, and bulk production follows the approved sample.
Do I need a foil lining?
If the contents need protecting from moisture — tea and coffee are the usual cases — we can line the inside of the tube with aluminium foil for moisture resistance. Ask for it in the quote request so it is built into the sample.
A foil lining is for moisture resistance. If you also need a fully airtight seal, say so in the quote request and we will confirm the route for your product.
Which size for tea, coffee or wine?
- Tea and coffee: made the same way — the same size range, the same two lid styles and the same foil lining option. Send the product and its fill weight and we will size the tube.
- Wine: a wine tube holds a single bottle and is sized to it, up to 350 mm tall, so it normally needs no insert. Send the bottle height and diameter.

What should I send for a quote?
- Product dimensions (for wine, bottle height and diameter)
- For tea or coffee, the fill weight
- Shape: round, oval or square
- Lid style, or how the tube will be opened and displayed
- Whether you need a foil lining
- Quantity
Artwork is not needed for the first review; print-ready files are only needed before sampling.
